Bought it ! Nokia N73 music edition (Review)

Well, I sold my old Nokia 6600 for 4k and got a new N73 music edition :) . I was considering 3 phones - Nokia N73, N95 & Sony Ericsson K800i . The N95 being a bit expensive, I left it for good.
Now, as I’ve been a hard sony ericsson fan all these years, still have my 5 year old T610 with me, I did try to convince myself that k800i was better. But N73 was tempting, especially ’cause of the OS, Symbian S60 3`rd series. the K800i on the other hand comes with a proprietary os i.e i’ll be stuck with the Java softwares. Though I’m not a Symbian freak, I consider Microsoft Windows Mobile / CE better for smart phones.

The 3.2 megapixel cam is nice, and takes good decent pics. The front one is a VGA cam, for video conf. I don’t think anyone would ever use it for anything else. :|

The Sound Quality is superb ! I would say it can equal any Sony Ericsson Walkman phone, though my cousin’s SE w550i played some songs/3gp files a bit louder than my N73. But the best part is you can playback around 22 hours continuously through the Headset, unlike any SE which are known to drain Battery fast. It also has the Stereo Widening & Loud Option like in the w550i.

Buying a music edition means 2GB card in the box instead of 512MB, a more clearer screen + 100 songs selected by Nokia.

The html browser should really come in handy, any website can be opened also the ones with javascript. I checked on Sreejith.Net/orkut/Yahoo! which opened quite fast, this would be a pleasing experience for orkut and other Friendship/dating/junk freaks ;). The joystick controls the cute little cursor on screen, which is pretty easy to use.

Projectw.org Gone, No more ! - RIP

I’ve decided to close ProjectW down since I don’t have time to run it anymore. It was fun to do 3 years but now the time has come to shut it down. Big thanks to all posters, donators, VIPs and most of all mods and admins. Good luck in the future, GRIZZLY

Yesterday I got a shocking news, a view at projectw.org . Its no more, its gone ! :( . Message was there by Grizzly thanking the members and mods, yesterday. Right now its parked for Sale and sedo. Its said that server required a lot of time, money and of course security.

NOTE : I am getting lot of spam stating “I am new projectw”. Please refrain from posting any links, I guess naming it would be enough.

Its Back !! :D

The really long Drive : TVM-Pune-Mumbai

Calicut - ‘Hubli’ - Pune - Mumbai

The start was rather unexpected - My aunt woke me up at 8:30 on 3`rd morning and suggested that we go Pune - and I said “fine ! Lets go” . I’m not lying, I didn’t realize what I took up until we reached Manglore :/ .

As much I enjoyed the drive, there was this thing bothering me. The moment we reached Kasargod (8pm approx.) I realized that I was having rather comfortable drive, which is unusual for me as I am used to have my purse in my back pocket which makes me a bit uncomfortable . Being a new car there wasn’t the book holder below the wheel, as in my car. So I came to a sad realization that I had lost my wallet somewhere. Still, I drove Pune where I got my purse back (:| , got stuck between the seat) . In between I had blocked all my Credit & Debit cards :| .

Beauty

Karnataka is really pretty place, though you’ll find no one for miles ‘n miles . The beauty really gives you a pleasant feeling. At a place an hour after Udupi we used to come across a river every few kilometer. At Gokarna there was this lovely scenery of a mile long backwaters on right side and sea on the left side, more like we are driving in the middle of water. The Gov. can surely make some bucks out tourism ;).

But I should say North and South Karnataka heavily differ in terms of everything you see. Southern karnataka is more greenish compared to its northern part which feels deserted. You can find dozens of vehicles especially trucks overturned or hit somewhere.

Expressway
This was my first time on a express highway. - I loved it ! A small part of the Golden Quadrilateral but marvelous drive. Reached Hubli - Pune in just 10 hours ! Why don’t we have expressways everywhere ?
At the top speed 150/km at Pune-Mumbai expressway, it didn’t seem like I was anything above 80 ! I wish I had a better car, at least mine :( .

Here are some Pics I took from my old 6600, unfortunately I forgot my Cam :/ . Enjoy ! :P

10 most common typos in blogging

I stumbled on this post , sounded interesting. The author has pointed out 10 commonly make typo mistakes a blogger will make. So how many of these do you make ;) ?

1. Your - You’re
As mentioned above, your message might lose impact if you’re not paying attention to this number one word maltreatment. If you find it particularly difficult to separate them from each other, stop using ‘you’re’ altogether and notice how you are starting to improve your spelling.

2. Then - Than
The next step is then to tell yourself that it’s better late than never to get that vowel placement in order. Then your readers might find something more useful to comment on than your apparent spelling impediment.

3. Its - it’s
It’s best to write an article and its words properly for optimal reader engagement. Again, if you still fail to tell the difference without effort, just write how great it is not having to worry about misusing or misspelling words.

4. To - Too - Two
To write two posts per day, or not to write two posts per day. That too is the question.

5. Were - Where - We’re
Where in the world were you? We were at Billy’s and we’re staying for another day. Make sure your blog visitors do that too.

6. There - Their - They’re
They’re moving their cursor over there. By focusing more attention on proper word use, your visitors won’t highlight and pinpoint your mistakes.

7. A - An - And
A flawlessly written article serves as an eye-opener and should provide lasting value. Remember also that an abbreviation like SUV starts with a vowel pronunciation and requires an ‘an’ in front of it.

8. Off - Of
Of all the mistakes you could prevent from appearing, start off by checking out this common mix up. You should have paid attention at school when they told you not to write ’should of’. Or off your visitors go.

9. Here - Hear
Hear ye! Hear ye! Here is a blog worth reading. You can almost hear the distant clicks of new visitors finding their way over here this very moment.

10. Lose - Loose
But if you’re too loose on your writing discipline, you will end up losing those readers after a while. You’d have a bolt loose if you don’t apply these 10 writing rules from now on with greater care. You win some and you don’t lose anyone.

Rise of the Rupee : I should worry !

The smile on Indians planning to buy foreign goodies or holidaying abroad might have got broader but I am still in dilemma. The Dollar is diving like never before, it dropped almost 4 Rs in past 4 months. The rupee gained over 8% against the US dollar in the part year itself.

44.6 - April ‘06
46.8 - Jul ‘06
44.3 - Jan ‘07
40.9 - Apr ‘07

Now, If I had withdrawn 500$ from paypal in Jan ‘07 I would have 22,150 Rs and at the current rate if I withdrew now, I would have 19,825 Rs (Paypal’s showing 39.6 as exchange rate).

Not that I’m not happy that my country people are enjoying cheaper services, its my money thats getting down. Literally, I’m in a loss of almost 8 -10% of what I usually get. I must be the first Indian who’s not happy ’cause of this fact ! :/ .

Probably I should invest, buy more Dollar stocks. eh ?
