You don’t like Himesh Reshammiya : Why ?
For those who don’t know Himesh Reshammiya, he is a Bollywood singer-composer and now actor who is known for Controversies/Criticism. In the past, his critics have suggested that success has gone to his head, and that he has signed on films indiscriminately. His recent debut movie “Aap ka Suroor” was also a target of many criticism.
Controversies/Criticism
- Firstly, His nasal twang has been criticized by many over and over again. At his first album release, even I felt sometimes that the background music actually sold the song. Sometimes the humming tune really irritates you (just my view).
- His style of holding the mic with one hand up, Singing with Eyes Closed, The Crown (cap) under which he surely hides something valued etc..
- In Now 06, Himesh remarked that Mukesh, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and R D Burman used to sing nasally. He also claimed that he had thirty-six hits in a year, and none of the above mentioned artists “ever gave the same number of hits in a year”. Later, Himesh clarified that his intention was not to insult R D Burman and apologized several times to Asha Bhosle.
- Reshammiya and his co-artists were questioned by the Income Tax department about their income from a concert in Surat. The organizer of the show, Nanu Ghaswalla, claimed that the IT officials were upset because they had been denied free passes for the show
- In his Debut movie, Reshammiya added a song Tanhaiyaan from Boney Kapoor’s proposed film Milenge Milenge. Reshammiya had composed the song for Kapoor’s film but later decided to use it for his own movie. Tips, which held the audio rights of Milenge Milenge, accused Reshammiya of copyright violation, as audio rights for Aap Ka Suroor - The Real Love Story were acquired by T-Series
- Ringtone Chori, When you hear the title track of the film ‘Apne’ you might get confused by checking your pockets thinking your mobile is ringing. Most people have complained that while they where hearing this track “Beetye lamhon ki†it seemed as if their phone was ringing, where as they had put their phonse on vibration mode. - Recently, At Shrine of Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti, Ajmer, A cameramen caught Himesh in a burqa. reportedly to avoid crowd of fans. Some people objected to this, and some even felt that it was a publicity stint for his forthcoming film. Later he apologized to the Anjuman Committee.
- Topi Problem, During an television interview on his film, ‘Aap Ka Suroor ‘ a viewer asked Himesh if they will be able to see him in his film without his now ‘famous’ cap. To which he said “Yes, you will, but don’t have much expectation as it will be for just 10 minutes.” But in the movie, To accommodate the ‘topi’ the director uses different camera angles. So, that we are able to see his face.
and so on …
Now, even though he created some of the controversies himself, he kind of did it accidentally otherwise has apologized for it. I am not judging him, I don’t like his singing but many does.
I am seriously out of the movie biz, just listen to songs, watch movies sometimes, enjoy & chill. thats it .

To this question of Liking or Not Liking Himesh, I would like to say that he maybe a greater person than us, who knows. We haven’t met him…
It’d be better to frame this question whether we like the acts of Himesh or not??
Well he surely has his share of controversies but why so much hue and cry over it?
I’m not a Himesh fan but I would like to say that he has full right to acquire a style of his own…And if he likes to sing with a nasal touch and wear a cap all the time, then let him do so.
Whatever the people say, I must like to add that he indeed gives great music in films, his most earlier songs in the films being a hit!
Only did he surface more after he started singing with ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’…
Even his singing is good if we forget the nasal thing. His ’surs’ are perfect, his variations are great and what else do we want in a singer. At least he is better than those numerous ‘Atif Aslams’ that we are getting today and those so called ‘Indian Idols’ who don’t know the ABCs of singing!
Well to me he is gud, his music is acceptable even great sometimes and as a person I don’t know him, so I can’t comment on that!

True, the moment I start listening to his songs I get a terrible headache. But that is just because we are over hearing him. I loved his Ashiq banaya apne and quite a few of his previous compositions. They never used to disappoint you.
About him getting into acting, I don’t see any problem (just that I will not see :P), everyone has right to fulfil his dreams, so is Himesh. I pray god that there won’t be downpour of Himesh films. I must also say poor thing is critisized so much by one and all… che papa

Hi!
I enjoy watching Sa Re Ga Ma Pa but nowadays I do not even feel like watching is because of Himesh. He is so full of himself. He always cuts everyone else off just to put in his two cents even if he has already had the oppertunity too.
Raja Hasan is such a wonderful singer and no matter how well he sings Himesh tries his best to put Raja down and insult Vishal. Why is he so arrogant? Gosh! I hate him from my guts.
He is trying his best to promote his “chela” Anik (Sorry about the spelling) at the expense of wonderful singers like Raja and Amanat. I will be so happy when he leaves the show.

yup! I used to like Himesh but….. his arrogance is putting me of, SERIOUSLY, wat does that guy want…++++++ Aneek sux…..Junaid and Harpreet had my votes, now it’s Poonam and Amanat.
