I was planning to buy a new PC, when this smart Idea came it into my mind, “Why not use the macbook pro as a desktop replacement ?” Of course it was not an innovative one but a good one (or at least economical). Before I buy the other stuffs, I needed a stand for my Macbook Pro. I wasn’t sure of spending 3,000 INR (60USD) for just a ST-A-N-D, so I decided to make it myself.
Here goes, First look for suitable metal plate. In my case I used the side cover of my old PC. Interestingly the width of the plate was same as macbook pro’s (14″).
Bend it to get this shape.
Well that’s it really, you have a stand ! But I did some finishing work with some Rexine cloth, which does the job well.
I agree its not exactly a looker, but it does the job for just Rs 50/- (1 USD)
Probably, I should start working for IKEA.
naice…y waste 50k wen u cn get the job done in 50Rs….gr8 goin dude….our country really needs innovative ppl like u…
Hi, that work you had done looks very innovative. I am in Netherlands now and I see such kind of stands in places where people use their laptops.
Maybe you should talk to the Government or Google or Apple regarding this. Lot of toxic waste from US are imported by India. Maybe this idea of yours can be used by them to convert some toxic waste to a utility like this.
You never know when a business deal strikes. Cheers!!
whao! nice one man..
that one was cool.. any other innovative ideas during your slump?
@Sohail, Thanks mate !
, my slump ? I was helping people locally here. Also saved lot of money in Internet charges
@Archana, Yeah, during my slump,
I wuz lookin for a good Music player for my N73-IE and Google lead me here. Interesting articles… Keep it up.
A simple add-on(weight support with 2 encyclopedia) to your “tilt stand for Notebook/Macbook Pro”… and now its my tilt stand for Wacom Intuos. Tank you very much.
No one can stop innovation.
…and as Raj said.. You never know when a business deal strikes. Cheers!!
I really like the Laptop Flip as a stand for my Macbook Pro. It raises my laptop for better ventilation and allows me to store my Macbook in the vertical position when not in use. This save quite a bit of space on my cluttered desktop.
