Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 420 Quick Review

Just got it, thought I would do my bit of review. It doesn’t seem that cool to say I downgraded from a Macbook Pro but it beats Apple in pricing. Besides 45k logic board for a 3 year old Mac notebook seems a bit too much.

The Edge 420 Looks decent compared to other enterprise level laptops. The plastic/body quality, although very good finish and quality, is not very inspiring for rough use but should survive a fall or two. Very less fan noise and very less heat .. as of now. They say the keyboard is spill proof.

Everything useful seems to be there at fingertips. The utility software which lenovo provides are not buggy and are very .. simple and almost what you need. Only thing is, I had to change my desktop setup cause most of the ports are on left unlike Dell or Macbook.

The Battery seems to last 3-4 hour with Wifi and decent browsing. Should last 5Hrs+ with minimal use. (6Hrs they say )

I missed the 15.6″ model, E520 , as there was no 15″+ model with i5 processor in Edge series (all across south India).

Good Bits
- Matt screen, Body finish and quality.
- Neat keyboard (loved it !) with page up/dn just about arrow keys. Trackpad/red ball (:P) and navigation, best among others.
- Heat level and noise is less
- Battery Juice.

No Bad bits as of now, maybe not sturdy as they say but its sturdy enough.
