755km, two days on my Honda Unicorn Dazzler

150cc is not much of engine when doing long trips but considering the whole 755KM is as good as any city road with enough traffic, its enough .

At about 8 am yesterday, mom woke me up to tell me that my cousin had a cute lil baby :D , so thought about visitng her at Trivandrum about 370km from my place. Mom was not sure, but I assured her that after reaching Ernakulam if I didn’t feel like it, I would return back.

Started at 10:30 am. Reached Ernakulam bought a Full-face helmet, wanted to but a LS2 but the guy was quoting too much. Met a friend, ate food and decided to head on to Thiruvananthapuram, started at 4:30pm. Reached a place called “chavara” before Kollam at 7 something, my first encounter with rain in this journey, took shelter for about 15 mins till the rain was over, lost another 10 mins when my key fell somewhere when I was running to get shelter.

But it was hell afterward up till Attingal, as it was dark afterwards, with potholes everywhere, light drizzling and every moron flashing his lights in my eyes. I don’t know how I managed to get through. Here is when I felt the lighting of the bike could have been better, may be its cause of the rain or the shift from four wheeler. Reached KIMS hospital directly at about 9:30am.

The next day (today 4`th July), I started back at about 9:30 am. After 1 hour, Kollam, heavy rain started, I put on the rain coat and was off again. It was lovely riding in the rain but it wasn’t really a pleasure when it rains continuously for 4 hours and water get inside your shoes. And more annoying when the you get water on your seat. By the time I reached Ernakulam, rain was over. Crossed Kodakara after a tea brake at my aunts place and its raining again. I reached home at about 6:30 pm

Total of 755KM, 20 Hours. It was fun altogether.

About the Honda,
- I loved it .
- Averaged between 50-70kmph, went till 80kmph at few points, unfortunately my 1`st service is still due and its 1400km+ already on the odo.
- The speed it achieves, it does without any fuzz. Engine might not be too powerful but is good in what it does.
- Again, I don’t know if its the rain but I felt the headlight is bit low on brightness though the high beam is fine.
- The seat position, saddle height/handling goes very well with the roads and traffic here.
- Its efficient, I got 50-58kmpl.
- Its all dirty n muddy now, but not engine or electrical problem whatsoever.
